The Brief
Nanomotion, a Johnson Electric company, makes high-precision piezo-ceramic motors and motion systems for the semiconductor, optronics and aerospace industries. To meet growing demand it had to expand its operating cleanroom in Yokneam without disturbing the assembly lines, and define the cleanroom specifications for its production site in China.
What We Did
- Yokneam expansion: engineering assessment, architectural redesign and HVAC airflow planning for the expansion, with contamination control, pressure balancing and local particle capture around sub-micron assembly.
- HVAC and clean utilities: guidelines for HVAC capacity upgrades, micro-vibration, clean dry air and ESD protection for semiconductor-grade assembly.
- China site: conceptual and preliminary cleanroom design - layout guidelines, space segregation, clean utility specifications and contamination boundaries to ISO standards.
Result
The Yokneam cleanroom expanded while production continued, and one cleanroom design basis for the expansion in China.
